Principal’s Greeting
I looked back at my September opening newsletter. At the beginning of the year I made reference to the Body of Christ as having many parts and the Lord is most honoured when we serve Him in unity. This past year has been a year where students, staff and parents have served and learned together. Our theme "Dig Deeper" focused several Chapel and student activities towards the goal of not only "digging deeper" in our relationship with Christ, but also to surrender ourselves as Christ more fully utilizes each of our gifts and abilities. My sincere thanks is extended to each family, staff member and OCS supporter for your contribution to this past year of the OCS educational ministry. There have been both joys and sorrows experienced while the Lord continues to reign over each of His children.
Have a great summer serving and being refreshed in the Lord.
School Family
It is with mixed emotions that we say good-bye to our graduates. We pray that our Grade eight students will be remember that God will direct their path, if they turn to Him in all their ways.
Our graduates for 2010 are: Wesley Brown, Olivia Burleigh, Steven Hahn, Matthew Hall,
Thomas Heidman, Seth Knappett, Benjamin Leatherdale, William Martin, Stefan Michel,
Paige Torrie, Mitchell van Schepen. We also bid farewell to some of our parents as their youngest graduates this year. Those leaving us this year are: Arlene Burleigh, Richard & Diane Hahn, Peter & Melody Heidman, Tim & Kim Leatherdale, Scott & Jackie Torrie,
Jake & Ingrid van Schepen. We thank you for the privilege of educating your children and the important role you have played in supporting Christian Education. May God bless you in this next phase of your child’s life.
We also want to thank Ann Evan’s for her faithful service and wish her blessings and joy as she begins her retirement. We know that Ann & Ken will continue to be involved with the school in a volunteer capacity and we thank both of them for their continued commitment to Christian Education. Ann & Ken, you are a testimony to the fact that we never “retire” from the Lord’s work! Be blessed and safe travels!
We look forward to welcoming Mr. Daniel Chester (our new Grade 3/4 teacher) and his family to the OCS community.

Thank-you to all our volunteers for the golf tournament! It was a fabulous day! The Lord heard our prayers and blessed us with a picture perfect golf day! He is so good!! The school made approximately $15,500.00.
Reminders
Pre-Registration for the Fall: By now, you should have received in the mail, your student & family profiles and a financial commitment form. These forms are to be returned to the school by June 25 along with a post dated cheque for September 1. Some families have already returned their forms, but did not include a cheque. We count on the tuition income to meet our financial obligations for September so please ensure that you leave a cheque with the school office. Also if you are participating with CEAF, we will need to mail the post dated cheques in early August to ensure we receive a grant cheque for September.
New family registrations have been coming into the school and we praise the Lord for those He is bringing to the school. Please pray those who are deciding and seeking God's direction for their commitment level regarding next year. Seek the Lord for those within your church that you may approach with the news of the effectiveness of an OCS education.
Before and/or After School Care: With the upcoming closure of our OCS daycare, we are starting to investigate the child care needs of our OCS families. The Program Committee is attempting to ascertain how many OCS families will need before/after care. If you are a family that is interested in OCS continuing to provide this service, please contact Sue McLaughlin at brent093@yahoo.ca. Your quick reply will be greatly appreciated as it will help us properly assess the needs. Thanks Sue McLaughlin on behalf of the Program Committee.
